Wisp

A poem

Wisp

Hear that soft quiet voice
Listen to its words
As infant wonder flutters
on newfound wings
Worried about that wisp of vagueness
Only seen before it dissipates

“Will you fall?” it whispers
“Will we fall?”
“Will you fail? it wonders
“Will we fail?”

The grasp on uncertainty has now disappeared
a realization that you made it all up
Caressing the ego into
a picture of comfortable numbness
See the mistake, if ever there was
Perhaps the point
the beginning was there
After shattering and crumbling
into the past
Grasp onto the cornerstone
Yet know enough to let it go.

Hear that soft quiet voice
Listen to its words
An elders experience unshaken
firm on giant wings
Unhurried by that wisp of vagueness
Only seen before it dissipates

“Let it go” it whispers.
“Leave it behind.”
“Let it go” it urges.
“Leave it all behind.”
