Little People
A poem by Chris Hibbard
December 21, 2014
Far far away
on a beautiful star
the little people play
among the beautiful flowers;
and beautiful trees
and beautiful birds
and bees and rabbits and squirrels.
And they jump and they play
and they run and they twirl
and they’re small
and they’re beautiful
and they sing songs
all the days short
and all the nights long.
And they hide
and they find each other again
and they run and they jump
and they twirl and they spin
and look up in the sky
at the beautiful stars –
some galaxies light years away
and some not all that far.
And they think about
“we people”
“us”
far, far away
and they smile and they wink
and they look up again
and they laugh and they run
and the little people hide and they spin.
