A daily poem #22 – June 6, 2009

A poem
by Robert Frost

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

  1. i clicked on the tag surfer and was surprised to have this pop up. One of my good friends had a song called gold, and the lyrics always touched me — so this poem brought back good memories. Thanks!
