I Severed Off a Head Today

A poem and lyrics
by Chris Hibbard
dedicated to Tim & Tanis Roberts and Scott Hunter

I Severed off a Head Today

I severed off a head today
But where it is I cannot say

It could be in the kitchen
It could be in the drawer
It could be the bathroom
Lying on the floor

It could be in the attic
It could be on the stairs
It could be in the living room
Sitting in a chair

It could be in the laundry
It could be in the yard
It could be on the patio
Or forgotten in the car

I think of all the places
That a little head could hide
But it’s getting hard to think
With all those sirens and lights outside
