Gummy Bears

A poem
by Chris Hibbard

Gummy Bears

Gummy Bears

I ate them slowly
I had no need for haste

Slowly nibbling off their arms and heads
Savoring the taste

The extremities slid down my throat
Those little bits of jelly

And found themselves a brand new home
Deep within my belly

I felt no remorse
There was no need for any

By the time I stopped to think about it
I had eaten up too many
