Eden

A poem
By Chris Hibbard

Eden

The twilight sky matches her eyes tonight
Revealing just a subtle glimpse of the one inside
Ever present is the ominous loom of the shroud
Blocking my view
Avoiding perception

A beacon lies beyond her flesh
A secret so safely locked away
That to reveal is to destroy

Even a match yearns to burn forever
And in some ways desires to harm
So if Eve never saw the world as today
If she had, would she indulge anyway?
